An intensivist is a medical doctor who works in critical care. In this career, you are a licensed physician that helps a variety of patient types, such as those in the ICU (intensive care unit) and people in otherwise grave health circumstances. To perform your responsibilities and duties properly, you need a variety of skills. The qualifications for this career include getting a bachelor’s degree and a medical degree from an accredited school. You must then complete fellowships and internships that teach you about all medical fields before you start specializing in this specific field of medicine. You must concentrate on both pulmonary and critical care medicine to become an effective intensivist.
