The career path to becoming an Instructor may vary based on the level at which you intend to instruct. Higher education Instructors typically need to have a bachelor's degree in their specified fields, but many colleges and universities prefer Instructors to hold at least a master's degree. Depending on your area of expertise, it may be beneficial to hold real-life job experience or additional professional certifications to build out your qualifications to become a stronger candidate. Because you may be grading papers, depending on the type of instruction, having a strong writing or grammar background, as well as public speaking experience, may be necessary.
