How to become an entry level EMT?

Career: Entry Level EMT

Becoming an entry-level EMT or certified emergency medical technician requires state-specific qualifications. Most states have their own EMT certification course and final test. You must have a high school diploma and be at least 18 years of age to take the EMT course. Once you complete the course and pass the test, you must apply for your state license. Applying for the license requires filling out an application and passing another examination. After you have your license, you can apply for EMT jobs in your state. Other skills that are an asset to a first responder include the ability to triage patients or the driving skills to operate an ambulance.
