How to become an electrical inspector?

Career: Electrical Inspector

The qualifications that you need to work as an electrical inspector vary from state to state. Employers may prefer inspector applicants with a college degree in an electrical-related subject or professional electrician skills, but a high school education is a minimum requirement in most states. You also need an electrical inspector license or certification. License standards vary by state, and you may wish to pursue a general accreditation, such as a certificate from the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI). Some states require an electrician’s license, previous electrician experience, or an electrician degree.
