Choose a program that is approved by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Employers prefer both hands-on and software design experience. You should continue your education throughout your career to stay up to date on emerging technologies, equipment, and electronics trends. Other qualifications include attention to detail, knowledge of the manufacturing and prototyping process, strong math, time management, and analytical thinking skills, and experience with process enhancement.
