How to become a weekend pilot?

Weekend pilots must have the same qualifications as weekday pilots. You need a high school diploma or equivalent and obtain Class 1 medical certification stating you meet all health criteria for pilots. Many pilots complete an associate or bachelor's degree in aircraft operations, aviation, aeronautical engineering, or a related field, while others go through pilot school without earning a degree. To meet the qualifications required by the government, you must achieve a commercial aviation license or the relevant pilot’s license for the type of aircraft your company flies. State regulations vary, so make sure to check the criteria where you live. Newer pilots are often assigned to weekend shifts, but may move to weekday shifts after working for several years.
