Fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of this position involves stooping, bending, walking up to five miles per day, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, and interacting with the public. You work in almost all weather conditions. Employers may require a written exam before hiring you. Other helpful skills include knowing how to operate a two-way radio, establishing positive working relationships with all levels of management, and understanding confined space safety procedures. You may need to deal with citizens, pets, insects, and snakes.
