How to become a trailer editor?

Career: Trailer Editor

The qualifications to become a trailer editor include several years of experience with trailer creation and editing and demonstrated experience working with footage from various sources. Most employers prefer applicants who have a bachelor's degree or similar education, but this is not as important as your editing abilities. Trailer editors often maintain a selection of sample trailers, usually known as demo reels, to demonstrate their techniques for various movie genres. Fulfilling the responsibilities and duties of this job requires creativity, research skills, good judgment, a sense for pacing in short-form videos, and the ability to follow specific requests, instructions, or requirements.
