How to become a traffic control supervisor?

Career: Traffic Control Supervisor

Certification and experience are the primary qualifications to become a traffic control supervisor. There are no formal education requirements, though most employers prefer that you have a high school diploma or GED certificate. Depending on the state in which you live, certification may or may not be mandatory. If it is, then you must complete a training course to learn traffic control skills and gain vital experience and knowledge of safety standards. While training, you work under an experienced crew member, gaining roughly 2,000 hours or one year of experience before you can work on your own.
