How to become a test pilot?

To pursue a career as a test pilot, you need a bachelor’s degree in physics, engineering, math, or a similar field. Additional qualifications include U.S. citizenship and a valid pilot’s license. You must also pass regular medical and physical exams to maintain flight clearance. Experience as a military pilot for the U.S. Air Force or Navy may be helpful when applying for government test pilot positions. You need strong observational and analytical skills in addition to excellent flying abilities to be successful in this career.
