How to become a technical director?

Career: Technical Director

There are several different kinds of technical directors; the most common types work in film, television, theater, and software development. Depending on the industry, job duties for this position vary. For example, technical directors on a film may ensure that all the computer graphics are done exactly as the director and producer envision them to fit in the movie. In television, this role works in the control room and controls the video switcher, changing camera angles or adding visuals when the director commands it. Theater technical directors oversee all the mechanical equipment in the theater and check them to make sure they are safe and in working condition. Software developers rely on technical directors to create a plan to complete an application and get it to the market.
