How to become a sport camera operator?

Career: Sport Camera Operator

There are no formal education requirements to become a sports camera operator, though many have an associate or bachelor's degree in film studies, broadcasting, communications, or a related field. Degree programs provide hands-on training with broadcasting camera equipment. Most start their sports camera operator careers with an internship or entry-level position at a television station, sports network, or sports film production company, and work their way up to a camera operator position. Once you have worked in the industry for several years and have built a substantial portfolio, you may choose to become a freelance sports photographer and work for different sports organizations on a contract basis.
