How to become a snow cat driver?

Career: Snow Cat Driver

The primary qualifications for becoming a snowcat driver are a valid driver's license, snowcat driving experience, and excellent physical fitness. Employers prefer applicants who have at least one year of experience driving snowcats and, in some cases, may insist that you have no restrictions on your driver's license, such as corrective lenses. Fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of this job requires the ability to sit for extended periods, use a two-way radio, and climb in and out of a snowcat regularly. Aside from these, helpful skills include familiarity with skiing and other resort activities, the ability to occasionally lift 60 pounds or more, and excellent situational awareness. Employers may count experience with other heavy equipment, such as farming combines or snow plows, toward their requirements.
