During law school, you can take classes and apply for internships that help you specialize in finance law. After graduation, you need to pass the bar exam in the state in which you wish to practice. You can get an entry-level job to learn the skills you need to be successful as a securities attorney. If your job duties involve buying or selling securities on behalf of a client, you may also need a Series 7 license.
