How to become a resident care associate?

The qualifications you need to begin a career as a resident care associate include a high school diploma or postsecondary training. While some residential care facilities offer on-the-job training, most prefer applicants who complete a postsecondary program and earn certification as a home health aide (HHA) or certified nursing assistant (CNA). Employers typically require first aid skills and CPR certification. In this job, you also need strong interpersonal communication abilities because you spend your workday interacting directly with patients and residents. In most positions, you also need the physical ability to support, lift, or move clients.
