How to become a remote GIS developer?

The primary qualifications for becoming a remote GIS developer include a bachelor's degree in a field like information systems or engineering and several years of experience with GIS systems and applications. Many remote GIS developers start with an office-based position and move to remote work after getting more experience. Some companies have additional requirements, such as obtaining a Public Trust security clearance so you can access existing geospatial information databases. Fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of this position also requires excellent communication skills and familiarity with programming languages and systems like JavaScript and C#.
