How to become a receiving associate?

Career: Receiving Associate

There is not a formal education requirement for a Receiving Associate position beyond a high school degree or GED. Other prerequisites you will need include physical stamina, a flexible schedule, basic computer and calculation skills, and consistent attention to detail. Prior experience keeping inventory, working in a warehouse environment, or possessing forklift certification will benefit your job search. Employers also value individuals with experience in customer service or retail. This is often an entry-level role, but at least one year of working experience in the industry is preferred. However, most organizations provide on-the-job training. While the basic qualifications are minimal, some companies require their employees to pass a drug screen and background check.
