How to become a provost?

Career: Provost

To pursue a career as a provost, you must be ready to dedicate your professional life to academia. The qualifications for a provost job include a master’s degree in an educational field as well as tenure as a professor in an academic department at a college or university. Some higher education institutions require job candidates to earn their doctorate before becoming eligible for the position of provost. You can also attend programs like the Becoming a Provost Academy (BAPA), a one-year program by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), to hone your skills and experience.
