How to become a porter?

Career: Porter

It is helpful to have a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate, but this is not always a strict requirement to become a porter. Previous experience doing janitorial, maintenance, or general day laborer work is also useful and sometimes required. You should be detail-oriented, have excellent communication and customer service skills, and be able to take direction and complete tasks promptly. In addition to these skills and qualifications, you should have good physical strength and stamina for lifting or moving equipment, luggage, or furniture as needed.
