How to become a personal chef?

Career: Personal Chef

To become a personal chef, you need training in the culinary arts. You may take cooking classes through your local community college or complete a program at a culinary institute. Some personal chefs start their careers working for a restaurant or catering company to gain skills in preparing and cooking a variety of meals. You may be a general chef and cook many different cuisines, or you may focus on meals for those with dietary restrictions, such as vegan households or diabetic patients. Earning qualifications through the American Culinary Federation (ACF), like the personal certified chef (PCC) designation or personal certified executive chef (PCEC) certification, demonstrates your proficiency and may make you more competitive in the job market.
