Lead front end developers usually need to have at least one or two years of experience with front end duties and responsibilities before taking a leadership position. Although there are no formal education qualifications that you need to get this job, some companies prefer candidates with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar area of study. Obtaining certifications in at least one or two coding languages, such as CSS or JavaScript, can come in handy as well. Other qualifications you need to become a lead front end developer include communication, teamwork, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
