How to become a kiln operator?

The qualifications that you need to become a kiln operator vary from employer to employer. Most kiln operators learn the requisite skills through on-the-job training or as an apprentice to an experienced kiln operator. Some employers may provide the necessary training if you have at least one year of experience in machine operation or industrial manufacturing. You may also be able to earn a certificate from a vocational or technical school in kiln operation for pottery or lumber drying.
