This job involves high water pressure and heavy vacuum suction, so learning how to operate the equipment used for cleaning and finishing is crucial to completing your duties safely. In some positions, you need to have a commercial driver's license with a hazmat endorsement and a forklift license. You must also be familiar with EPA standards and know how to clean up and dispose of hazardous waste properly. Some employers also require completion of first aid and CPR certification. Other qualifications include physical stamina and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations at a construction site.
