How to become a health physicist?

The primary qualifications for a health physicist position are a bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or a related field and several years of experience with health physics. Health physicists are not doctors and do not provide care to patients, so you do not need to attend a medical school. Fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of this position requires excellent communication skills, teaching skills, the ability to acquire and use technical knowledge and memorize numerous safety regulations. Employers may require additional licensing or certification, but they may let you earn it after you start the job. The most common certification needed is Certified Health Physicist, a title granted by the American Board of Health Physics.
