How to become a fence installer?

There are no formal qualifications to begin your career as a fence installer. However, some employers prefer job seekers with a high school diploma or GED certificate. You need math skills and physical stamina for this job. Previous experience in wood shop or carpentry is helpful, though most employers provide on-the-job training. As a fence installer, your job duties include surveying and measuring land, digging post holes, pouring concrete, and installing posts and fence panels. You report to a contractor and work with a team of other fence installers.
