How to become a drawing instructor?

Career: Drawing Instructor

Becoming a drawing instructor primarily depends on your ability as an instructor and the strength of your portfolio. Some drawing instructors come from a formal fine arts background, such as a BFA or MFA program. Others may be self-taught or working artists with qualifications in different fields. What matters most is your ability to teach a variety of skills and methods, such as how to sketch or do figure drawing. You must also have a vast knowledge of different mediums and materials, such as types of paper, pencils, ink, washes, pastels, and crayons.
