How to become a dragline operator?

Career: Dragline Operator

Most dragline operator jobs favor candidates with some combination of relevant experience or education, such as a background in general heavy machine operation and equipment. However, most positions provide on-the-job training and may be open to candidates who are new to the field. Some jobs require that you have a certification from the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). You can also find apprenticeship programs through your local chapter of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Skills in communication on the job site, teamwork, and safety are critical for dragline operators.
