To become a costumed character, you must be at least 16-years-old, have excellent customer service skills, and enjoy dressing as your character. Some employers prefer candidates with experience in public performance or public speaking. Learn the role for the position you want so that you can portray them accurately. You must have the physical stamina to stand for most of your shift while in costume. Be energetic when seeking costumed character positions. Many positions work outdoors in all weather conditions in costume and may require you to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
