How to become a compositor?

The qualifications to have a career as a compositor include a bachelor's degree in an art-related field. Areas of study usually include graphic design, animation, photography, or illustration. You also need to have practical experience in the industry and proficiency with the latest computer software used for compositing, such as After Effects. Many employers looking for compositors require two years of experience at a minimum. You can gain this experience by starting out as a graphic artist or roto-artist.
