How to become a community health educator?

To pursue a career as a community health educator, you need at least a bachelor’s degree in health education, health promotion, public health, or a similar field. Your employer may require you to obtain the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. To earn that qualification, you must pass an exam and complete 75 hours of continuing education every five years. If you have a master’s degree, you can earn the Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) qualification.
