To become a claims processor, you need a high school diploma or equivalent. Vocational and associate’s degrees are available, but most insurance companies provide training on the job. Experience with customer service or paperwork can help you gain the skills you need for this job. Medical insurance claims processors may choose to become a Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS), but professional certifications are not required.
