How to become a chef assistant?

Career: Chef Assistant

You can get a job as a chef assistant with a high school diploma or a GED certificate and a desire to pursue a career in the culinary industry. Some companies prefer candidates who have had at least some culinary training through a vocational program or previous job. You may also need to complete a food safety training program. A CPR or first aid certification can set you apart from other candidates, but it is not a requirement. Additional qualifications for chef assistants include a willingness to learn new skills, an understanding of kitchen cleanliness and sanitization procedures, and the ability to stand for long shifts.
