How to become a cable TV installer?

Career: Cable TV Installer

There are no formal education requirements to become a cable TV installer, though most have at least a high school diploma or GED certificate. Cable companies usually provide extensive on-the-job training for new employees. Some employers offer training through equipment manufacturers or unions. You also need a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and must pass a background check. While some companies provide a company vehicle, others require you to have your own truck to carry cable installation equipment and a ladder. Other qualifications include physical strength and stamina and the ability to climb up to high heights.
