How to become a CMM inspector?

The qualifications you need to become a CMM inspector include a high school diploma and knowledge of CMM machines. Some employers provide job training, but most expect that you have experience setting up and operating coordinate measuring machines and using CMM software. Most employers require that inspectors have between one and two years of previous experience. You must be able to read gauges and instruments and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Depending on the focus of your career, you may need to have drafting skills and the ability to read plans and blueprints.
