How to become a CISO?

Career: CISO

A chief information security officer needs extensive knowledge of cybersecurity and the IT industry. You can start on this career path by earning educational qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in IT or cybersecurity. Most employers prefer executives with at least a master’s degree, such as an MBA with a focus on IT or cybersecurity. As an executive, you also need proven leadership skills and previous experience in a management-level position. Relevant professional certifications include a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO), and CISSP Information Systems Security Management Professional (CISSP-ISSMP).
