How to become a broadcast engineer?

Career: Broadcast Engineer

A broadcast engineer performs a variety of technical support duties at a radio or television station. The qualifications you need to become a broadcast engineer typically include an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in broadcast engineering, radio or TV studies, or a closely related subject. Many people in this role begin by gaining experience and training as a broadcast technician. In addition to technical qualifications, you should have demonstrated supervisory experience and the skills to work independently. At a small TV or radio station, a broadcast engineer may perform many of the same tasks as a technician, while at larger regional or national stations, they have a more managerial role.
