Career: Botox Injector

The minimum qualifications to become a Botox injector include being a registered nurse or a medical doctor. To become a cosmetic nurse, you need to complete your associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing and pass the NCLEX-RN to obtain your nursing license. Cosmetic nursing requires two years of experience as a cosmetic nurse assistant working under the supervision of a cosmetic nurse. There are optional certifications, including the Cosmetic Nursing Certification. To become a medical doctor who provides Botox for medical or aesthetic purposes, you must follow the same educational path as other physicians and earn board certification. Most doctors offering this treatment specialize in plastic surgery, but other specialists, including dermatologists and neurologists, also provide Botox treatments.
