How to become a backroom associate?

There are no formal education requirements to become a backroom associate, but most have at least a high school diploma or GED certificate. Employers often consider this an entry-level position and provide on-the-job training for new staff, but many companies prefer candidates who have at least a year of retail or warehouse experience. You must be proficient with basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and have experience with inventory systems and data entry. Having prior roles in customer service is also a plus. Additional qualifications include the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds, excellent communication and organizational skills, and attention to detail.
