The career path to becoming an IT Security Manager generally involves earning a bachelor's degree in computer sciences, computer and information technology, engineering technologies, or a related field. Depending on the organization, you may also need to earn a master's degree or MBA to be qualified. There may also be a minimum number of years of working experience required as this is a manger role and you will be leading a team and certain projects. Many IT Security Managers start their careers in entry-level IT positions and work their way up, though if you have enough work experience with transferrable skills, you could begin as a lower level and then advance to higher-level management role.
