How old is the masonry profession?

Masonry has been around for thousands of years. Historical structures, such as the Egyptian pyramids and the Great Wall of China, were constructed using masonry. In fact, clay brick is man’s oldest manufactured product. More than 6,000 years ago, sun-baked clay bricks were used to build various structures. While materials and methods have continued to evolve since then, it is safe to say that masonry is a craft that has stood the test of time.
