How long is a lineman apprenticeship?

Most lineman apprenticeships are 7,000 hours, which equals four years of full-time training and instruction. Lineman apprentices need that time for the development of the skills to work with electricity, circuits, power lines, and other electronic equipment. The knowledge and skills gained in an apprenticeship stay with linemen throughout their careers with the power company or contractors. When you complete your apprenticeship, you graduate with the qualifications to work as a journeyman lineman anywhere in the US.
