How do you become a security manager?

To become a security manager, you need a high school diploma. Next, you must complete a formal security personnel training program. These programs may take anywhere from eight to sixteen hours and will cover topics such as security and safety policies and procedures, self-defense, and emergency preparedness. Upon program completion, you will need to gain work experience as a security guard before you can apply for a security manager position.
