To become a brazer or work in a similar position, such as a welder or solderer, you need to have a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate. After high school, you can pursue this career through an apprenticeship, by enrolling in a vocational school or community college training program, joining the military, or getting extensive on-the-job training from more experienced welders and brazers. Other qualifications include excellent math and mechanical knowledge, concentration and observational skills, and manual dexterity. Several professional welding societies offer certification as well.
