How do you become a BCBA?

Career: BCBA

To become a BCBA, or board certified behavior analyst, earn a bachelor’s in psychology, education, or a related field. Many BCBAs also hold a master's degree to increase their job opportunities for upper-level positions. While in school, intern at a health care facility, counseling office, or school to learn how to work with different kinds of patients and problems. Once you complete your schooling, obtain certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Qualifications to be eligible for certification include completion of a set number of hours of behavior analysis coursework based on their choice of program and certification. Seek BCBA positions in behavioral analyst clinics, large companies with in-house counseling offices, schools, and some pediatric practices.
