The qualifications needed to start a career as an accounting instructor include a bachelor’s degree in an accounting or finance field. Community colleges may require you to have a master’s degree. If you want to advance to a professor position at a university, you must earn a Ph.D. Most positions also require that you be a certified professional accountant and have several years of work experience in the field.
