How do I become a resume writer?

Resume writers need a strong background in writing. Experience in marketing, recruiting, or other hiring-related positions can also boost your chances of landing a position as a resume writer. Most resume writers have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as English or journalism; however, strong samples and previous experience writing can sometimes be substituted instead. The National Resume Writers Association offers certification, which can be helpful if you have no prior relevant experience, or are looking to launch a career in freelancing. The Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches offers similar certifications.
