How can I get a job in material handling?

Career: Material Handling

To get a job in material handling, you need certain licenses and training, particularly if you intend to operate heavy machinery. Becoming OSHA forklift certified allows you opportunities as a forklift operator, and knowledge of how to safely operate manual, automated, or semi-automated equipment is of use to you no matter your specific title. If you are applying to delivery positions, delivery truck driving certification and definite overtime availability during peak seasons will make you an attractive candidate for employers. Being detail-oriented, organized, having the ability to follow directions, staying on schedule, and working well with other people are all critical skills for this position. The only educational requirement for a job in material handling is a high school diploma or GED certificate.
