Obtaining a job as a junior DevOps engineer usually requires several years of experience, so you need to work a job in either IT or software development in an organization first. Once you earn experience in either of these fields, you can tell your employer you would like to cross-train in other areas. In order to obtain one of these positions, you need a bachelor’ degree in computer science, computer engineering, networks, or a related field. Qualifications for certain companies only require associate degrees. You should have knowledge of coding and scripts, and a DevOps certification through AWS is helpful once you have built up your skills and experience.
