How can I become a paratransit driver?

Career: Paratransit Driver

As a paratransit driver or paratransit operator, you transport passengers with a disability or mobility issues, many of whom use a wheelchair. The job qualifications vary by state, but you almost always need to complete a basic driver certification training course that briefs you on both American Disability Act and Federal Transportation Authority requirements and covers all your duties and responsibilities. You also need a driver’s license and clean driving record. Because you offer a mobility service and not an emergency transport service, you do not need advanced medical training or skills, but you may need First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
