How can I become a marine engineer?

Career: Marine Engineer

As a marine engineer, your qualifications should include a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, but related coursework in math, physics, and other types of engineering is useful as well. Having experience in the boating industry can also be beneficial, but engineering skills usually take precedent. While you gain experience, you should take training courses that lead to an incorporated or chartered status. These programs can take 2-3 years, but they open doors for management positions and even advancement towards naval architecture. A Professional Engineering (PE) license is desirable.
